Joking aside, I'll spare you the full story.

I go by Miles Hillier, a proud father of three and a devoted family man. Finding joy in moments spent with my loved ones, I strongly advocate for maintaining a healthy work-life balance. I'm a proactive individual, drawn to the thrill of working under tight deadlines.

Getting to the core of any task is where I excel, thriving in novel and challenging situations. My perpetual drive to grow and learn fuels my enthusiasm for taking on new opportunities.

My Design Defaults

My Design Defaults

Through many years of experience I have learned that it doesn't matter what type of designer you are or even if you are a designer at all. These are things I do to provide some of the best results possible.

Understand before you design

It’s all about the problem and not about a suggested solution.

Being curious is key to solving real life problems. One must see the experience in its entirety to truly understand what design is needed. I enjoy not only understanding the micro interactions but the experience as a whole.

Design multiple paths

There are several ways to approach a problem.

Take time to explore and evaluate other solutions. Some of the best ideas come from some of the most unexpected places. Looking outside your current industry and medium can provide a fresh take on current issues and provide amazing results.

Design in the open

Communicate & be collaborative to better align cross-functional teams. Whether shared files, Live site or even Printed status and screens taped to the wall, It is important to show no fear and your journey to all who work with and around you.

Seeing the work your are doing and how you are doing it is crucial to building great products.

Design with integrity

Care about what you create but don’t be afraid to throw it away if the value isn’t there.

We are designers and it is our job to design amazing products that solve real problems. If it fails to solve and delight then we take our learnings and try again.

Leadership is everywhere

Everyone has the opportunity to lead and be led.

Leadership is not a title that is given but one that is earned by experience and care of those whom you work with.

Be Human

We are humans designing for humans. Sometimes we can get

lost in interactions that distract us from designing experiences

that are instinctively human.
